Revelation - Fall Of Babylon - Tom Regan

Date 2016-11-13

With the surprising presidential election results, our study of Revelation 17 and 18 this coming Sunday is timely. Jesus said his disciples are “in” the world but not “of” it (John 17:16-18). The entire election process has probably made many of us feel this truth more strongly. If we feel out of place or not at home in the world it’s because Christians are foreigners and exiles in a world that is not our true home (1 Peter 2:11). As much as we have to be thankful for in America, we, like Abraham, “desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one” (Hebrews 11:16). Like Abraham and the saints of old we are “looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God” (Hebrews 11:10). So how should we live today—in what may be called “The city of man” (i.e. the world)—as we hope in the return of Christ and finally being at home in the “City of God” (the New Jerusalem)? Our passages in Revelation will reveal how we are to live as we await with great hope the coming of the New Jerusalem, our true and final home under the rulership of Christ the righteous King. Join us on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:45 AM for our Worship Gatherings as we jump into this amazing section of Scripture.
